In New York City, you can apply for 3-K in the calendar year that your child turns three. The days are from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:20 PM. If you wish to join the extended day program, it allows parents to pick up their child at either 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM. This also allows you to drop off your child on days when the 3K program is closed but the daycare is still open. For example, the 3K program is closed for Winter Break from Christmas Eve all the way until the day after New Year, but the daycare is closed just for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
